Introducing: Weekly Challenges.

I have so many projects left unfinished. It's a bad habit of mine. I like to start something I think is awesome. I then get bored with it and move on to another something awesome. This happens before I finish the first awesome. Needless to say, I have many incomplete awesomes laying around the house.

Well, with the start of this new blog, I decided it would be fun to challenge myself to projects a couple times a month. I'll document my progress and if it sounds interesting to you, invite you to tag along.

This week, I'm making cupcakes:

Not just ordinary cupcakes, but recipes from some of the most well-known cupcake shops. I narrowed my cupcake selection recipe down to 5:

Monday: Sprinkles Cupcakes
recipe here.

Tuesday: Magnolia Bakery
recipe here.

Wednesday: Kyotofu
recipe here.

Thursday: Auntie Em's Kitchen
recipe here.

Friday: Kara's Cupcakes
recipe here.

I based my selection on cupcakes recipes by the accessibility of the famous recipes and how badly I've been wanting to try them (most are official recipes, one is a rendition I found online). If you're in, I would love for you to try out the recipes too. Come bake with me and let me know what you think!

Also to kick off this contest, I'm offering my very first blog giveaway. Leave a comment on this post before Midnight, Friday March 28th and I'll randomly pick someone to receive a Sprinkles cupcake mix:

Yay! Let the baking begin!

(as soon as I whip up my first batch, I'll blog about the cupcakes I make later today.)

Oh cupcakes! How they warm my heart! If only the oven had a cover on it I would bake to my hearts content. Alas, baking is a huge challenge because Savannah loves to touch the oven and look at what ever is baking. (Two years ago my then 3 year old brother-in-law broke the safety cover to the oven. My in-laws still have not replaced it. The oven is totally unsafe!)

i would so love to try the sprinkles out. Pick me :) I too am guilty of way too many unfinished awesomes...I hate that about myself & it's the reason why I don't start anything anymore.

Such a wonderful idea!! We love cupcakes at our house because they aren't as daunting as eating a whole cake (which we can never finish!)!

what giving away yummy cupcake mix. The fact I have been craving cupcakes forever, and I have never tried sprinkles cupcakes, I am in on this one! I might just have to bake with you this week. I need to get my yum on.

yum! I have heard so much about these- but never tried them! Would love to win.

Does this mean I have to bake in order to win?
Because I am much much better at eating than I am at baking.
Although I have always wondered what goes into a $4.50 cupcake as opposed to the $1 for a box kind of cupcakes...

I frequent my local William Sonoma shop weekly and I drool over the sprinkles. cupcakes. display. I almost convinced myself to bring the beckoning red velvet canister (my wedding cake-yum!) to the register and sail home happily to my waiting oven. But alas, the budget of this college student sqeezes the Sprinkles right out of my life. I must convince myself that EVERYONE needs a Sprinkles cupcake now and then, right? Right!
